Introduced some new friends to Môretsu Space Pirates last night.

Me: "They're basically teenaged genderflipped Kirk and Spock, with a hint of slash."

A few weeks ago I dropped some rihanai in an RPG.net thread about Trek languages, and someone commented that it was funny seeing someone with a Fluttershy avatar speaking Romulan. Scientists in Japan have invented the phaser. We really are living in the Star Trek universe, aren't we? Maybe I should change my retirement plans from Luna to Alpha Centauri.

Yesterday we had the first session of John's Star Trek game--not counting character creation. It went pretty well and we had a lot of fun. Personal Log, Stardate...let's say 8322.9. On Saturday we inaugurated John's short Star Trek RPG. To my surprise, I get to play my Vulcan medical officer PC after all; Shawn was before me as we went around the table announcing our character ideas, and he chose to play a human engineer.

My new campaign is officially a-go. Tomorrow is our D&D game, then next Saturday, March 3rd, we do the first session of the new campaign. We'll finalize which game at that time, roll up characters, and--time permitting, which it probably won't--maybe play out an opening scene.
